How to learn English well

English is important and useful to us. How can we learn it well?

    First, listening to something interesting is the secret to language learning. We should practice listening by listening to tapes and repeating out loud. We must pay much attention to listening to the teacher carefully and taking notes in class. Remember to review the notes at home. Watching English movies is also helpful to us. Second, we should speak English during or after class as much as possible. For example, we can have conversations with friends to practice pronunciation. Don't be afraid of making mistakes. The more you speak, the fewer mistakes you' ll make. Third, we can read more English magazines and newspapers. When we read, we should read word groups to get the main ideas. If you don't know a words meaning, we should try to guess its meaning by reading the sentences before and after it. Try not to look it up in the dictionary. At last, It's too necessary to get much writing practice. We could keep an English diary every day and write e-mails in English to our pen pals to practice writing.

    In a word, as long we do more listening, speaking, reading and writing, we will learn English well

    The Spring Festival is one of the traditional Chinese festivals. It's often celebrated in January or February. In our country, people celebrate it in many ways. Before the festival, people usually buy some new clothes and lots of delicious food. On New Year's Eve, all the family members get together and have a big dinner. On this day, people in the north of China always eat dumplings and people in the south are used to eating tang yuan. After the big dinner, some people like watching the Spring Festival Gala (春晚) They think that it's really fantastic. Others enjoy going out to watch the colorful firework to welcome the coming new year. They believe that it's pretty wonderful. During the festival, people always visit their relatives and say "Happy New Year" to each other. Besides, children can wear new clothes and get red packets with some money in them. So they all love this festival very much. It's also my favorite festival. Because it always makes me happy and excited
